Daxx is a leading Dutch IT staffing company. We are looking for an Android/Front-end developer.

You will work remotely for our Dutch client from our office. This is a fulltime position and you will work with a team from Ukraine and become a member of IT Team of our Client. This is a great opportunity for you to collaborate with international colleagues and build your successful IT career in Ukraine.

About the project

Our customer works for marketing & communication firms and do their online projects as tech partner of these firms.

The projects are custom made, applications/promotion sites with requirements like: fully crossplatform/browser, 50% of the sites is responsive, all have some basic Javascript, all have smarty template coding, some have custom PHP code needed. Also they build their websites using the CMS Made Simple system.

The challenge is in getting better, more flawless and faster at each website, and improving the base installation at the same time. So there definitely is time for architecture thinking and following trends like latest jQuery, by fine-tuning the base installation based on experiences when building each website.

Meaning 2014 will be important for building our mobile development department. Starting with you as an experienced Android developer, who also knows web development. Why both? Because you as first android developer will have both types of projects in the process of building up this mobile development department

Responsibilities:

Building solid and high performance android apps by yourself, in collaboration with e.g. developers who’ll build a content management backend. We expect you to be and feel fully responsible for your work all the way, so not for just the lines of code. Everything you program is meant for a customer, and for real people, meaning a common sense of what you are making and acting like it is extremely important.

Requirements:

Minimal 3 years of experience in JavaScript, HTML, CSS
Back-end development background is important, to for example also be able to program API’s communicating with the apps. PHP, MySQL preferred, open to other languages.
Minimal 2 years of Android mobile app. development experience
HTML5 experience will be a plus
Wordpress experience will be a plus
Good English speaking and writing
Clear understanding of the term ‘expectation management’
Breathe programming. Loving programming. Reading about it and being inspired about it.
Open-minded, open to learn and to be coached, flexible
Not afraid to say what you really think
No 9 to 5 thinking.
