Daxx is looking for Ruby-on-Rails Team lead. This is a fulltime position. You will work remotely from our premises and become a member of IT Team of our Client. This is a great opportunity for you to collaborate with international colleagues and build your successful IT career in Ukraine.
About the Project
Our client is an American company which produces payment service that lets people use their rewards (like airlines, hotels) to purchase goods and services on the Internet. This is a product company with Head office in California.
The development team consists from 2: Java and Ruby-on-Rails developers. Java team is responsible for back-end and for services such as credit card, security, API. Ruby developers do RoR development, JavaScript side, are responsible for DB, perform design, cross-browser compatibility, customer support, invoices, billing services.
Although they have already had this service, it will be development “from scratch” because of new functionalities. You will play a lead role in developing the core platform for the next-generation web technologies applications in the electronic payment market.
Development team in Ukraine is expected to grow to 3-4 people with QA.
Requirements:
5-7 years of web development experience, including at least 2 years of Ruby-on-Rails programming
Strong knowledge of OOP
HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery expertizes
Development experience of consumer apps with cross-browser compatibility requirements
Excellent English skills both writing and speaking.
Personality: critical thinker, strong communication, leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
Development of the team in Ukraine (expected to grow to 3-4 people in the future)
Team leader will be responsible for good quality of the RoR code, development of new functionality which will be added to existing code
Design, develop and maintain Web applications and user interfaces using Ruby on Rails
Perform design and code reviews
Provide technical recommendations during product planning and development
Perform and undergo design and code reviews with peers
Collaborate with VP on front-end architecture and design
